Supply Value's 2021 purchasing trends research has been published!
For the ninth year in a row, Supply Value has examined the most important trends and priorities within the procurement sector. The results of the procurement trends research can help procurement professionals to prioritize and determine focus areas for the coming year. In addition, this research pays attention to the most important themes in response to the corona crisis.
Based on a survey, 389 professionals from the purchasing profession shared their view of the future. The survey was distributed in collaboration with NEVI, VIB, Purchasing Café and Procurement Café. The majority of respondents, 316 (81%), work in the Netherlands, followed by Belgium with 61 (16%). In the survey, we asked respondents to indicate how much priority they plan to give to 16 themes related to procurement in 2021. In addition, the respondents were asked about the purchasing themes that will structurally change their role as a result of the corona crisis. The results of the survey show that the purchasing function is increasingly seen as strategic, with close relationships with suppliers being central. The results also show that purchasing professionals are becoming increasingly aware of the need to properly control the environment and to organize the processes accordingly.
